The Grove Estate vineyard is the oldest continuously owned family owned vineyard in the Hilltops, originally planted to Vines and Cherries in the 1860 Gold Rash by the Cunich family. Brian and Suellen Mullany and partners then re-established the vineyard in the late 1900’s. The Cellar Door building is one of the original huts used by the pickers and is a living semblance of those times.
The Viognier was hand harvested from our Vineyard out towards Wombat. The style we have captured here has been harvested a little earlier than the fruit that we would co-frement with the Shiraz. The wine has zesty fresh characteristics with a palate situated somewhere between that of a Chardonnay and a Semillon.
